A story of selflessness from a rabbi in Ukraine. Surely there will be much more to tell as the rabbis of Chabad have been there (for years) solely to help.
On Shabbat, a Jewish man entered the Chabad synagogue in Kiev crying and told the rabbi, "Rabbi, please help me, my car is out of gas and the gas stations are closed, I have to go to save my family! "Rabbi Pinchas Vishedsky did not hesitate, walks to his office, takes out his keys and hands them to the man. "Here, take my car, it has a full tank. Get your wife and children to safety."
Overcome with emotion, the man asks, "And you, rabbi?""I'll figure something out, don't worry. Now go save your family."Such selflessness and love is the job of the Chabad rabbis in Ukraine.
Rabbi Vishedsky moved to Kiev after being forced out of his hometown of Donetsk during the fighting in 2014, where he leads his exiled community.
